MLS Highlights

2016: Diop featured as the No. 1 keeper for LA Galaxy II for much of the season, but was able to make his MLS debut in the first of two back-to-back road games he started against New York City FC and Chicago Fire on Aug. 20 and Aug. 24. With Los Dos, Diop stood between the posts for 22 matches, earning a 1.18 GAA.

Diop, signed in the offseason ahead of the 2016 season, occupies an International roster spot. He joined LA Galaxy after leading Los Dos to the 2015 USL Western Conference Championship last season.

The French goalkeeper started in 24 matches for LA Galaxy II while recording eight shutouts with a 1.12 goals against average during the 2015 USL Regular Season. In postseason play, Diop recorded two shutouts and allowed just one goal in four games played, leading Los Dos to the 2015 USL Championship against the Rochester Rhinos.

Diop signed with LA Galaxy II following the club’s 2014 season. In 2011, the former France youth national team goalkeeper signed his first professional contract with Amiens Sporting Club in the Championnat National, the third division of professional soccer in France.
