CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy believe that they're primed to make a run up the standings, and Saturday's clash with FC Dallas could be the start of a potential march to the Supporters' Shield.
The Galaxy won their second straight match last week when they dispatched Seattle Sounders FC 3-1 but now they'll face a tougher test when they travel to the Lone Star State to take on FC Dallas. Toyota Stadium has hardly been kind to the Galaxy in recent weeks with two consecutive defeats, and a 1-3-1 record in their last five games.
If the Galaxy can get over the hump in Dallas, Saturday's match could be a major turning point in LA's 2015 campaign.
"I hope so," Galaxy captain Robbie Keane said. "Last time, we went to Colorado with a different mindset and mentality that I think was very, very good. If we can continue that, without conceding in the first 10 or 15 minutes then I think that we'll be okay."
Gyasi Zardes agreed that the full-strength Galaxy side should compete for three points in Frisco on Saturday.
"We stand a good chance going to Dallas. We've got a majority of our players healthy and a couple of new additions to our squad," Zardes said. "We know the weather and the conditions are always tough but we stand a good chance."
