LA GALAXY INSIDER
Tony Alfaro, center back, Cal State Dominguez Hills
In a special Top Drawer Soccer mock draft made up of local media from across the country, I posited that Bruce Arena will select Cal State Dominguez Hills center back Tony Alfaro. After four stellar years for the Toros, Alfaro is well-known to the Galaxy’s front office after years

Kyle Fisher, center back, Clemson
Considered a valuable piece of depth rather than an immediate starter, Ives Galarcep notes that the four-year starter at Clemson could be groomed into a potential starter in central defense for the Galaxy. A defensive leader for the Tigers, Fisher led Clemson to the National Championship game in his senior season. Injuries are a concern for Fisher, who endured several injuries issues during his senior season.
TOP DRAWER SOCCER
Tony Alfaro, center back, Cal State Dominguez Hills
The experts at Top Drawer Soccer predict that the Galaxy will grab Alfaro with their lone selection in the first round. With a cultured left foot, Alfaro’s passing ability makes him a sought after commodity in the draft, but pundits predict that he’ll need a few years seasoning before he can contend to be a starter. If selected, he could see significant time with USL affiliate LA Galaxy II.

Julian Buescher, central midfielder, Syracuse
Matt Doyle of the league website hypothesizes that the Galaxy will nab the 23-year-old German central midfielder out of Syracuse. Considered to be one of the top passers in the draft, Buescher drew high marks during the MLS combine before coming off with an injury. Doyle notes that Buescher is unlikely to cover significant ground like a Juninho or Marcelo Sarvas, but his passing ability makes him a potentially valuable addition to the Galaxy.

Jordan McCrary, right back, North Carolina
NBC Sports suggests that the LA Galaxy might select defensive-first outside back Jordan McCrary in Thursday’s draft. Considered the top outside back in the draft class, McCrary could compete with the likes of Dan Gargan and Oscar Sorto if selected by the Galaxy on Thursday.
