24-year-old Colombian midfielder Bryam Rebellon has signed with LA Galaxy II pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC), the club announced today. Rebellon joins Los Dos from Llaneros F.C. of the Categoria Primera B league in Colombia.
Before that, Rebellon spent his career playing in both Colombian and Argentinian leagues, beginning his professional career with Soacha (Colombia) in 2009. Rebellon most recently featured for Llaneros F.C. in Colombia before his move to Los Angeles, playing for the Categoria Primera B side since 2014.
Rebellon has started each of the team’s three preseason exhibitions ahead of Galaxy II’s 2016 USL Regular Season. Los Dos are now just over a month away from its season opener on March 26 against Arizona United SC at StubHub Center.
Rebellon joins 22-year-old Dutch forward Denzel Slager as a new addition to Los Dos ahead of the 2016 USL Regular Season. Slager joined Galaxy II after spending one season with the OC Blues. During his professional career, Slager has spent time in the Netherlands with RKC Waalwijk (Eredivisie) and Coventry City (English League One).
In 2015, Los Dos finished the USL Regular Season fifth in Western Conference standings with a 14-11-3 record to qualify for the USL Playoffs for the second-straight year. They were led in goals by forward Ariel Lassiter, who scored 15 times between the USL Regular Season and USL Playoffs. LA Galaxy Homegrown Player Raul Mendiola added 10 total assists for Los Dos on the year with Galaxy II goalkeeper Clement Diop earning 10 shutouts. LA Galaxy II also recorded the best road record in USL, going 11-7-0 in all competitions including regular season and playoffs.
