As a player that has played with teams with natural rivals (RSL vs Colorado; LA vs SJ) as well as a team that arguably didn't (KC) was there any true difference playing a team where the fanbases clashed rather than a team you as a player feel a rivalry with?

Also with SJ coming back into the leauge in 2008, how did LA prepare for a match that may have lost meaning?

Rivalries are great for our club and great for our league. San Jose is our historical rival and it adds to the significance of the game. As a player those are the games you want to play in and want to win.

Question about superstar DPs: Having been a teammate to the original DP, Beckham, through today in your involvement with current superstar DPs, has much changed with how the Galaxy help integrate superstar DPs with the guys who are not the top 5 guys on the roster?

A lot has changed since we signed David and each player and situation is different. The biggest difference is the maturity and quality of our roster and the ability to handle a player like David Beckham, Steven Gerrard or a Giovani dos Santos. These players are now signing to be a part of our club and our league.

Hi Chris. Having previously gone through the Chivas USA situation, and having watched what has happened in New York, what lessons have you and the LA Galaxy learned about having a second MLS team in your market? And how has the creation of LAFC changed/influenced the Galaxy's long-term strategy?

We have been a leader in this city and in our league since day 1. We didn't change the way that we operated when Chivas was here and we don't plan on changing with a new club eventually coming in a few years. We continue to invest heavily in our stadium, our players, and our development structure.

Seeing as a few MLS clubs have started teams in NWSL, I'm curious if LA is thinking about an expansion side?

I know LAFC have said it's a possibility but I haven't heard anything from the Galaxy.

The NWSL is great and growing league and it has been something that has been discussed and we would love to see a team in LA.

Hi Chris.

1) What are your thoughts on the latest results by all MLS teams against Mexican teams in the Concacaf Champions League

2) What do you envision for the future in the MLS?

3) Do you envision the MLS joining the Copa Libertadores at any point in the future like Liga MX or is the heritage/cultural difference too much?

I was disappointed but not surprised because of the schedule and when we played the Liga MX clubs. It has to change and I believe it will. I firmly believe that MLS will be one of the best leagues in the world within 10 years. The travel for MLS clubs in Copa Libertadores is something we cannot overcome, but I would love for us to find a way to test ourselves against the best clubs in our hemisphere.

Thanks for taking some time to answer questions, Chris.

  1. How do we have 8 internationals on the roster but presumably only 7 international slots? NYCFC has one of ours and we traded one to Colorado with Sarvas but presumably that's come back already (confirmation of that would be nice). Did Mendiola get a green card?

  2. Why do we not have better coverage of LA Galaxy II? We're not informed when players leave the club (we only found out that Auras left when he showed up on FC Dallas' pre-season roster). We're not inforned which players are under contract for the upcoming year. We're not told which players are on trial. As a fan of our USL team, it frustrates me that basic information like this is not available to us.

  3. We only have 27 players on the roster. What is the plan for that final slot? Is Turnley with the team still or with G2?

  4. Our away form the last year and a half has been absolutely miserable. The team looks completely different playing at home vs playing on the road, both in MLS and CCL. What has the coaching staff done to improve on this?

Mendiola does not have his green card and Bruce is the master at managing our international slots. Some call him the Milton Friedman of international slots. Los Dos is a priority and our players will get better coverage especially as they progress to the first team of which we have signed 4.
We have 27 players but are at about the max from cap perspective and we feel good about our depth in the first team and with younger players coming for Los Dos. It is something that we see as a big need for improvement this year...ask Bruce when he does his AMA.

Two questions:

1) What's the deal with attempting a partnership for the last-mile public transit problem to SHC? Both Artesia stations poorly serve SHC on weekends/nights. Is Galaxy surrendering a transit-accessible option? Or is an easy link from the South Bay (and Long Beach) not something you guys think will pay dividends?

2) How often do you get to kick the ball around with the guys on the field, if at all?

1) We are constantly working on public transportation solutions and are confident that we will be able to announce something in the next 12 months. 2) these guys are too good now and my days are past.
