LA Galaxy II earned a comprehensive 4-2 victory over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday in what was the team’s final preseason match ahead of the 2016 USL season. Los Dos will open the season against Arizona United SC on Saturday, March 26, at StubHub Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT. For tickets to the opening match, visit www.lagalaxy.com/2.
Los Dos earned the win Saturday behind first-half goals from forward Denzel Slager, defender Lee Nishanian and forward Jack McBean. McBean then added his second of the match just after halftime, as the Galaxy earned a comfortable win at StubHub Center over their USL Western Conference counterparts.
Los Dos now begin the 2016 season after winning the USL Western Conference title last year, reaching their first-ever USL final. This offseason, Galaxy II added forward Denzel Slager, midfielder Bryam Rebellon, and defender John Neeskens, while returning a core of talented youngsters who were key in the team’s successful 2015 campaign. LA Galaxy II finish 6-1-2 in their preseason campaign in the buildup to this year’s opening match.
