In their third week of preseason training, LA Galaxy II defeated Club Tijuana 2-0 in a preseason scrimmage held at StubHub Center on Wednesday.
LA Galaxy Academy’s Zico Bailey assisted an LA Galaxy II trialist for Los Dos’ first goal in the 51st minute. LA Galaxy Academy’s Jake Arteaga scored in the 60th on an assist from Los Dos forward Adonis Amaya.
LA Galaxy II goalkeepers Bennett Sneddon and Eric Lopez split time, both earning shutouts in their respective halves.
Also notable was Sam Strong, a centerback who made it through the LA Galaxy II Tryouts and has featured in both of Los Dos’ preseason scrimmages. Strong, a former member of the UC Santa Barbara soccer team, has also featured for U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team.
LA Galaxy II will open the 2017 USL Regular Season when they take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at 2:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, March 25 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. Earlier this week, single game tickets to each LA Galaxy II 2017 home game went on sale.
