2016 wasn't all bad! The most heartwarming moments of the year

aj and noelle

2016 had a little bit of everything. There were highs and there were lows, and there were moments that you just had to stop and say "d'awwww."

As the year inches to a close, we wanted to take a look back at some of the most heartwarming moments of the season and show that it wasn't all bad.

Noelle DeLaGarza

The daughter of LA Galaxy's longest tenured player A.J. DeLaGarza, Noelle DeLaGarza melted our hearts again and again throughout the 2016 season. On most game days, you could find Noelle in the stands supporting her dad and she was always good for a postgame celebration on the field afterwards.

#LucaKnowsHeart Night

LucaKnowsHeart Night took place on August 27 to honor the life of Luca DeLaGarza, the son of A.J. DeLaGarza and his wife Megan, and the support from the entire Major League Soccer community for the DeLaGarza family. In 2014, Luca DeLaGarza passed away a week after being born due to complications of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The DeLaGarzas continued the campaign #LucaKnowsHeart to raise support and awareness for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.

Hawthorne’s Own x3
Gyan Zardes is the son of Gyasi Zardes and he danced right into our hearts during preseason and well, never left.

Maybe one of the most touching postgame moments was when Gyasi stopped to give fans autographs after a game and Gyan was right there to hand out some high fives of his own.

Gyasi and his wife Maddie also celebrated a new addition to the Zardes bunch as the couple welcomed daughter Maylie in March.

Daddio Husidic

Baggio Husidic became a new dad in 2016 and that in itself is pretty special.

Of course not too far after that, Baggio’s son experienced his very first Galaxy game and the post-game photo was pretty adorable.

Landon and Talon

Landon Donovan had himself quite the year in 2016. In January, he welcomed his son Talon into the world and in September, he ended his retirement and returned to the LA Galaxy.

Donovan’s first game back on September 11 was a pretty big deal, made even bigger by the attendance of Landon’s number one fan, Talon.

After the game, Talon was right there with his dad on the pitch and it was a very sweet moment between father and son.

New Dad Robbie Rogers

2016 saw a lot of new dads in the LA Galaxy family and one of those was Robbie Rogers.

Robbie and Greg Berlanti announced the birth of Caleb in February and the beaming dads wasted no time sharing their new son with the world on social media. Seriously, look how cute they are.

TFW when you meet your favorite soccer player

Three-year-old Xyla, the daughter of LA Galaxy season ticket members, was incredibly heartbroken by news that her beloved Robbie Keane picked up an injury. In a video sent to LAGalaxy.com, the young girl is seen despondent over Keane’s absence from the team.

Robbie Keane caught wind of Xyla’s heartbreak and invited her and her family to meet him pregame. It was very, very cute and worth another watch.

Gyasi Zardes surprises his biggest fan... again!

Kai Langer Gyasi Zardes’ biggest fan Kai Langer stormed into our hearts in 2015 after surprising the youngster on The Ellen Show.

In 2016, Kai got a little more than he bargained for when the LA Galaxy decided another surprise was in order.

Kai received an honorary contract and a customized jersey and it was really cute.

Here's to many more cute moments in 2017!
