Check out all the cool events coming to StubHub Center this January

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017) - The full calendar of StubHub Center event times and information during January 2017 is outlined below. Any media interested in covering an event below or receiving additional information can contact a member of the StubHub Center Communications Department.

January 7-9: 2017 NPSL Player Showcase

The showcase will feature players from all of the league’s four regions: Northeast, Midwest, South, and West.  This event is exclusive to registered NPSL players from the 2016 season.  There is no combine fee and costs are covered completely by the NPSL while the player is at the event. 

The NPSL is a national league that operates in the 4th Division of the U.S. Soccer pyramid.  NPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). The NPSL remains one of the largest national leagues in North America.

January 8-12: 2017 Major League Soccer Player Combine

Major League Soccer will host the 2017 adidas MLS Player Combine at StubHub Center, with the best college prospects on site to compete in front of MLS coaches, assistant coaches, technical directors and general managers to compete the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. All games are free and open to the general public.

January 21: NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl is the premier postseason all-star game for draft-eligible college players. The week-long schedule provides participants with a first-class professional experience while introducing them to the business of the National Football League. Founded in 2012, the annual game gives prospective NFL players the best opportunity to showcase their talents to potential employers and fans. Scouts from every NFL club and other professional leagues attend the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl’s practices and game.

January 21-22 & January 28-29: LA Galaxy II Tryouts

LA Galaxy will host open tryouts for their United Soccer League side, LA Galaxy II, in an effort to expand their recruiting pool and discover players for the 2017 USL season.

The technical staff will choose a minimum of 15 total participants from the open tryouts in Los Angeles for further evaluation. The LA Galaxy will arrange an invitation, flight, hotel and food for the 15 chosen players, who will train with LA Galaxy coaches from February 6-10, 2017.  LA Galaxy will select players from that week of training to extend their trials with LA Galaxy II, for a chance to earn a professional contract.
