Sergeant Montanez has been a law enforcement officer for over 18 years and throughout that time he’s received many awards and medals, including being awarded the Police Officer of the Year at his agency and for the Inland Empire. He’s also received two Medals of Valor and in 2023 received a Star of Courage.
Overall, in his 18-plus years as a police officer he’s received a total of two Southern California Medals of Valor, two Department Medals of Valor and two Department Stars of Courage. Additionaly, this coming September, he will be honored by the Corona Chamber of Commerce.
Sergeant Montanez continues to work as a police officer and he’s also a practicing attorney, as well as a Galaxy season ticket member.
