Dr. Ishimori was one of the first COVID-19 designated physicians to treat dozens of hospitalized patients at the onset of the pandemic and has been involved in extensive COVID vaccine research. She is double boarded in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and holds an academic appointment of Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Ishimori is the co-lead for the UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute and director of the Rheumatology fellowship program at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.Â
Dr. Ishimori is a mentor to high school, college, and medical school students, as well as a loving wife and mother of two daughters, Kira, age 13 and Mika, age 10.
