LOS ANGELES -- LA Galaxy midfielder Jonathan dos Santos was named LA Riot Squad Player of the Year on Sunday.
Dos Santos was voted LARS Player of the Year in an internal poll held by the LA Galaxy Supporters' Group. The Mexican international has made 28 appearances for the Galaxy this season, registering two goals and three assists.
“It’s an honor to be named Player of the Year by our Supporters. I think that I have suffered a lot these past two years, especially last year. In the end, this award makes me love this team even more and makes me want to be at this club for many more years with this great family," dos Santos told LAGalaxy.com. "Now I get to enjoy this award. We know we still have the Playoffs around the corner, and we must be Champions. Our fans deserve it. Thanks to them, the team has never stopped fighting. We have been working very hard to be in the Playoffs and I am very happy because in the end, we owe everything to our fans.”
