LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019) – The LA Galaxy have acquired $225,000 in General Allocation Money from Nashville Soccer Club in exchange for defender Dave Romney, the club announced today. Romney departs from after five seasons with the club.
“We will look to improve our roster ahead of the 2020 MLS campaign and acquiring Allocation Money give us flexibility as we enter an important period,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “We want to thank Dave for all of his contributions to our club. We wish him the best of luck with Nashville.”
Romney originally signed with the LA Galaxy from LA Galaxy II, becoming the first player to sign with the first team from Los Dos. Since joining, Romney has made 84 appearances, including 69 starts, in MLS play. He recorded three goals and added six assists during that span while playing multiple positions along the backline.
Transaction: LA Galaxy acquire $225,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Nashville Soccer Club in exchange for defender Dave Romney. The Galaxy will receive an additional $50k in GAM should Romney meet certain performance-based metrics with Nashville.
