LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Monday, Aug. 29, 2016) – The LA Galaxy and Nigel de Jong have agreed to mutually terminate the midfielder’s contract, the club announced today. De Jong, 31, departs after joining the Galaxy this offseason.
“We thank Nigel for his contributions to the Galaxy this season,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena. “He has been a fantastic member of the LA Galaxy and we wish him the best of luck with Galatasaray.”
This year, De Jong made 18 starts in MLS for the Galaxy. He signed with the club this offseason after most recently playing for A.C. Milan in Italy.
