LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, April 12, 2023) - The LA Galaxy today announce that it has named Will Misselbrook its first-ever Chief Creative and Content Officer for the organization.
In this role, Misselbrook will oversee all content, creative, marketing, digital development and innovation strategy. This includes defining the vision for the brand, developing innovative and authentic storytelling and experiences across all platforms, and building unique fan experiences and partnership opportunities for the club and the stadium.
“Our organization is committed to re-establishing the LA Galaxy as an innovator and leader within the league,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “As part of our Galaxy leadership team, Will is leading new initiatives to reignite our brand focusing on creative experiences and producing high quality content where fans, the community, and our supporters can engage with the team in exciting new ways.”
One of the original MLS teams, the organization is focused on evolving as a club and team to deliver sustainable success on and off the field. Misselbrook joins recent hire Will Kuntz as part of a growing leadership team that will oversee the club’s efforts to build a championship team and help define the future of the LA Galaxy.
“As an LA-native and life-long Galaxy fan, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity personally and professionally,” said Misselbrook. “The LA Galaxy is an iconic team and brand with an incredibly rich history and I am excited for the chance to work alongside Chris and the leadership team to differentiate the club and deepen connections with fans, supporters, and new soccer enthusiasts through unique experiences, compelling stories, and engaging content.”
Misselbrook joins the LA Galaxy after spending two seasons with the Washington Commanders where he served as Chief Creative and Digital Officer, a first-of-its-kind title within an NFL front office. In this role, Will oversaw the organization’s storytelling, creative and content development and brand marketing strategies. This included leading the organization's rebrand from Washington Football Team to Washington Commanders and the launch of Washington Branded, an in-house branded entertainment studio which developed authentic and engaging original and branded content.
Before joining the Commanders, Misselbrook was the Global Head of Creative for custom content, creative marketing, and original programming across all platforms and consumer touchpoints for The Trust, Wall Street Journal, Barron's Group, and Dow Jones Media Group. He has worked for some of the most globally recognizable brands and agencies, including Wieden & Kennedy, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH New York, in addition to serving as the SVP and Director of Global Creative Content Development for retail giant Coach in New York, and the Head of Creative Content and Branded Entertainment for Condé Nast Group (Condé Nast Entertainment & 23 Stories). Misselbrook holds a Film Diploma from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of York (UK).
