LOS ANGELES (Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023) – LA Galaxy defender Marcus Ferkranus has been called up by the United States U-20 Men’s Youth National Team for a training camp from Jan. 19-29 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Ferkranus, 19, made seven appearance (4 starts) for Los Dos, before playing nine games (4 starts) on loan with Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship this year. The Santa Clarita, Calif., native has logged one assist in 35 career appearances (20 starts) for LA Galaxy II (2020-Present).
Notably, Ferkranus, an LA Galaxy Academy product, was part of the U.S. U-20 Men’s Youth National Team that qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup after winning the Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras last year. Ferkranus appeared in five matches (4 starts) throughout the tournament as the U.S. won its third straight Concacaf U-20 Championship with a 6-0 win over the Dominican Republic on July 3, 2022.
