LOS ANGELES (Friday, June 23, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that defender Martín Cáceres sustained an avulsion fracture in his left knee during the club’s 2-2 draw against Sporting Kansas City at Dignity Health Sports Park on June 21. Cáceres will undergo surgery on Wednesday, June 28, and a timeline for his recovery is approximately three to five months.
Cáceres, 36, has tallied two goals in 18 games played (18 starts) across all competitions for the LA Galaxy during the 2023 campaign.
The LA Galaxy return to league action by traveling to face the Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, June 24 (6:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, LA Galaxy Radio, LA Galaxy Spanish Radio).
