LA Galaxy eSports player John “Xbleu” Garcia will be competing in the FUT 19 Champions Cup this weekend in London.
Garcia is presently ranked No. 93 globally with 324 Global Series points and will compete in the tournament this Saturday at 6 am PT with the matches live on EA Sports' Twitch and YouTube.
The tournament is Swiss-system tournament where players will compete against others with the same record until a participant reaches either three wins or three defeats. If Garcia earns three wins, he’ll advance to the knockout round on Sunday. The competition winner will receive $50,000 dollars and 1,500 Global Series points, with rewards being offered on a sliding scale down to 64th place.
XBleu is seeking qualification in the FIFA eWorld Cup and will be participating in this weekend’s tournament as well as another qualifying tournament in Atlanta next month. Garcia and Giuseppe “the Godfather” Guastella— currently ranked 56th in the world—are each fighting for qualification with the latter taking part in next week’s eNations Cup.
