CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Oct. 5, 2015) – LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos has been recalled from Mexico’s roster for CONCACAF Cup 2015 between the United States and Mexico set for Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif, the club announced today. Dos Santos suffered a muscle strain Sunday at CenturyLink Field against Seattle Sounders FC and will remain with LA this week.
Dos Santos has started in eight MLS regular season match for the Galaxy since joining the club from Villarreal this summer. He has recorded three goals and four assists in regular season competition. In 10 appearances across all competitions, Dos Santos has recorded four goals and six assists for LA. Dos Santos has also now had three games in which he has both scored and recorded an assist.
The LA Galaxy will enter a bye week in MLS play, with no game scheduled next weekend. They will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 18 when they host Portland Timbers FC at StubHub Center (4 p.m. PT, FOX Sports 1, FOX Deportes).
