CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, June 29, 2011) – The LA Galaxy and Portland Timbers announced today that the game between the two sides at JELD-WEN Field on Wednesday, Aug. 3, will now be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. Due to the change in broadcast, the game will now kick off at 7:30 p.m. The game had originally been scheduled to air locally on Prime Ticket and kick off at 8 p.m.
Portland is in its first season in MLS, one of two expansion clubs in the league this year. The Galaxy have never played at JELD-WEN Field, which opened on April 14, 2011, following a $31-million renovation to convert the facility from a baseball park to a soccer-specific stadium.
