LA Galaxy to host Hometown Heroes Night during May 22 match vs. San Jose Earthquakes

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, May 18, 2016) – The LA Galaxy will host Hometown Heroes Night at StubHub Center this Sunday, May 22 during the match against the San Jose Earthquakes to honor the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting our communities.


First responders from the San Bernardino shooting will be honored before and during the match, which kicks off at 4:00 p.m. PT.

During the match, the Galaxy will also celebrate various groups in attendance with pregame ceremonies, including members of California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles City Fire Department, Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Hollywood Police Department.


Additionally, emergency service and patrol vehicles will be set up in the SoccerFest area and U.S. Navy Logistics Specialist Second Class, Rebecca Lopez will sing the national anthem.


During pregame warm ups, LA Galaxy players will wear special jerseys with camouflage numbers to honor all servicemen and servicewomen. These special autographed warm ups will be auctioned online here with proceeds supporting the Foundation’s Hero of the Game initiative and veteran affairs programs.
