The LA Galaxy, alongside LA Chargers and StubHub Center, will host the second annual Read Across America Celebration at StubHub Center this Thursday, March 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. PT, as players and staff read to over 250 second and third graders from Towne Ave. Elementary School and Leapwood Ave. Elementary School to celebrate Read Across America Day, a nation-wide celebration of children’s author Dr. Seuss.
Among those scheduled to read Dr. Seuss books to numerous classes from the local Carson elementary schools include: LA Galaxy defender Tomas Hilliard-Arce, defender Daniel Steres, midfielder Baggio Husidic, assistant coach Dominic Kinnear, Cozmo and the Galaxy Star Squad, in addition to Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman and defensive lineman Damion Square and the LA Chargers Girls, in addition to staff from the LA Galaxy and StubHub Center.
All participants will participate in a soccer clinic, be provided lunch by Levy Restaurants and take home their own books provided by MLS Works. Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. Read Across America also provides NEA members, parents, caregivers, and children the resources and activities they need to keep reading on the calendar 365 days a year.
LA Galaxy’s Read Across America Celebration will take place days before the LA Galaxy’s 2018 MLS opening match. The LA Galaxy will kick off the 2018 MLS Season on Saturday, March 4 at StubHub Center when they host Portland Timbers at 7 p.m. PT live on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
