LA Galaxy II have released their 2018 USL Regular Season Schedule, the club announced today. In 2018, the club is set for its fifth season in the United Soccer League.
The regular season will span 31 weeks and 561 games as 33 teams compete for a place in the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs. The USL announced on January 12 the home openers for all 33 teams in the league, with the season set to kick off the weekend of March 16-18 with a slate of 14 matches over the weekend. The season will conclude on the weekend of October 12-14 with 16 matches. The Eastern and Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs will take place the following weekend.
In 2018, LA Galaxy II welcomes Saint Louis FC back into the Western Conference, as well as two Californian expansion sides: Las Vegas Lights FC and Fresno FC.
LA Galaxy II will face Las Vegas Lights FC for the first time at StubHub Center on Saturday, May 26 and will then visit Cashman Field in Las Vegas on Sept. 8 for their second meeting of the year. Los Dos will face Fresno FC in the second game of the season on March 24 in Fresno and will host the expansion side on Aug. 9 at StubHub Center.
In other notable matchups, Los Dos will host California rival Sacramento Republic FC in the last home game of the season on Oct. 6. They’ll visit Sacramento on Aug. 18. LA will see local rival Orange County SC at StubHub Center on June 10, making the trip to Orange County Great Park on April 7.
LA Galaxy II’s 2018 Home Opener will see Los Dos take on San Antonio FC at StubHub Center on Saturday, March 31.
In four seasons of USL competition, Los Dos have qualified for playoffs in three of the four seasons they played, in addition to a USL Western Conference Championship in 2015. current first-team players were signed to LA Galaxy after spending time with LA Galaxy II: Daniel Steres, Dave Romney, Ariel Lassiter and Hugo Arellano.
