CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014) – LA Galaxy II defender Daniel Steres was named to the USL PRO Team of the Week for Week 22 of the 2014 USL PRO season.
LA Galaxy II’s Daniel Steres earned the selection for his performance in Los Dos’ 1-0 victory over Oklahoma City Energy FC at Pribil Stadium Saturday night, where he scored the game’s only goal to help the Galaxy II secure a spot in the USL PRO Playoffs. Steres’ goal came in the 19th minute as he headed home an Andre Auras corner kick past Energy FC goalkeeper Samir Badr to give Los Dos a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.
Additionally, Galaxy II defender Oscar Sorto and Bradford Jamieson IV were named as honorable mentions for their strong performance in Saturday’s action.
LA Galaxy II (13-7-4, 43 points) will look to build on its two-game winning streak when they return to StubHub Center to take on Wilmington Hammerheads FC on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 12 p.m. PT live on www.lagalaxy.com.
