LA Galaxy II (5-10-4, 19 points) enter their third bye week in USL play after competing in three games over 10 days.
In their last contest, Los Dos fell short at home against a strong Reno 1868 FC side losing 4-1 despite Justin Dhillon’s first goal of the season.
LA Galaxy II now sit in 14th in USL Western Conference standings, nine points off the red line. This season, Los Dos has proven to be a strong attacking force with 32 goals scored so far, the second highest in the Western Conference. Of these goals, 21 have been recorded at StubHub Center, earning Galaxy II a solid 4-3-2 home record. By this point in the 2017 season, Los Dos had only scored a total of 19 goals.
Efrain Alvarez has contributed eight goals to the total tally in seven appearances for LA Galaxy II at a rate of one goal every 60.5 minutes. He is also the youngest player to score a hat trick in USL’s history. The record-breaking hat trick came at home against Saint Louis FC and helped Los Dos secure a 6-3 victory. For his attacking efforts, Alvarez has been nominated for USL’s 2018 Fans’ Choice Midseason – Young Player of the Year. Fans can vote here for Alvarez through 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday, July 19.
