CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015) – LA Galaxy II have invited Dimeji Sekoni and Javier Moran to train with the team during preseason ahead of the 2015 USL PRO season. Sekoni and Moran were selected by LA Galaxy II coaches from over 500 participants from 23 countries who participated in Galaxy II’s open tryouts over the weekend.
“Dimeji and Javier caught our eye after showing incredible effort this weekend,” said LA Galaxy II Head Coach Curt Onalfo. “Galaxy II tryouts were a fantastic opportunity for aspiring professionals to earn a chance to train with our team in hopes of earning a contract. We look forward to having them join us for preseason.”
Moran, 17, lives in San Fernando, California and attends St. Genevieve High School. In his senior season, Moran scored 40 goals and notched 13 assists in just 12 games while leading his team to an 11-0-1 as team captain. Throughout his four years on varsity, he played in 33 games and scored a total of 63 goals while adding 25 assists. The 5’5” central midfielder is a U.S. Citizen.
Sekoni, 23, was born in Nigeria and is currently a resident of Pheonix, Arizona. The 5’11” winger holds U.S. Permanent Residency Status.
LA Galaxy II will open their 2015 USL PRO season Sunday, March 22 when they take on Real Monarchs SLC at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. PT.
