CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014) – LA Galaxy II have loaned forward Charlie Rugg to Indy Eleven for the remainder of the 2014 North American Soccer League (NASL) season, the club announced today.
Selected with the 19th pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy, Rugg played in four games while scoring a goal in his rookie season with the club. In 2014, Rugg was a standout on loan to LA Galaxy II in their inaugural USL PRO season, scoring eight goals and adding three assists for Los Dos en route to helping the club to a third-place finish in the USL PRO Regular Season standings. Rugg also added three goals in the club’s playoff run as Galaxy II reached the USL PRO Semifinal match.
Indy Eleven’s NASL Regular Season concludes Nov. 1 when they face the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Rugg, 23, was born in Massachusetts and attended Boston College from 2009-2012, where he was selected as an All-ACC First Team Honoree in his final two seasons as a Golden Eagle.
