LA Galaxy II (3-8-2, 11 points) return to business in Los Angeles this weekend, taking on Western Conference rival Sacramento Republic FC (5-6-3, 18 points) for the first time of the season. Los Dos have never beaten Sacramento at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. They’ll get another chance Sunday, as the Galaxy look to get their first win at home since their season opener on March 25 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.
The two teams met four times in 2016, with the Galaxy going 0-1-3. Their last three meetings all finished in draws – Sacramento pulled out a 2-0 win over Los Dos in their first matchup of that season at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on May 7.
Justin Dhillon continues to lead the charge for Los Dos, assisting the game-winner in the team’s 1-0 win over Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday. He’s tallied three goals and one assist in his last six appearances for Galaxy II, and was rewarded with his third consecutive start this weekend.
LA Galaxy Academy’s Jonah Estrada netted the winner for his first professional goal in just his second appearance for Los Dos. The 16-year-old made his Galaxy II debut earlier in the season.
