CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014) – LA Galaxy II midfielder Andre Auras and forward Charlie Rugg were named to the USL PRO Team of the Week for Week 21 of the 2014 USL PRO season.
Auras earned the selection for his performance in a 3-2 victory over Arizona United SC at StubHub Center Saturday evening, where he scored a decisive free kick goal from distance in the first half. With Los Dos already ahead by two goals, Auras scored from around 25 yards out, bending a ball into the top right hand of the net to make the score 3-0.
Rugg received honors as he scored the opening goal in the ninth minute and recorded an assist just a minute later. Rugg received a pass from Galaxy Homegrown Player Jose Villarreal that put him in on goal before slotting it past the keeper. One minute later, he provided an assist on the second goal of the night, laying off a ball to Galaxy Homegrown Player Bradford Jamieson IV, who doubled the score.
Additionally, Galaxy II defender Todd Dunivant and Jamieson IV were named as honorable mentions for their lay in Saturday’s action. Todd Dunivant, who played in his first competitive action since April after recovering from injury, saw 78 minutes at left back while Galaxy Homegrown Player Jamieson IV notched the second goal of the evening for Los Dos.
