LA Galaxy II midfielder Rafael Garcia named to USL PRO Team of the Week

CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, April 29, 2014) – LA Galaxy II midfielder Rafael Garcia was named to the USL PRO Team of the Week for Week 6 of the 2014 USL PRO season after he scored the opening goal as Los Dos defeated the Orange County Blues FC 3-0 on Sunday evening.

Additionally, Galaxy II forward Travis Bowen and midfielder Alejandro Covarrubias were named as honorable mentions after their strong performance in Sunday’s victory.

The LA Galaxy II captain Garcia scored the opening goal in the 34th minute as he stepped up and curled a spectacular free kick over the wall and beyond the reach of Blues’ keeper Mohammad Mohammadi to give Galaxy II the lead. Garcia’s goal proved to be the game-winning goal, and he also helped control Orange County’s attack in the Galaxy II’s third victory against Orange County in their inaugural 2014 campaign.

LA Galaxy II return to action next week when they play the Charlotte Eagles on Monday, May 5 at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PT.
