CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014) – LA Galaxy II midfielder Rafael Garcia was named to the USL PRO Team of the Week for Week 23 of the 2014 USL PRO season.
Garcia earned the honors for his strong performance in a 3-3 draw with Wilmington Hammerheads FC, when he scored the game-tying goal in stoppage time to salvage a point. With Los Dos down 3-2 in stoppage time, the Galaxy II captain curled a free kick into the upper left corner of the net from just outside the 18 to level the score at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium.
Additionally, Chandler Hoffman and Jose Villarreal earned honorable mentions for their strong performance in Sunday’s action. Hoffman scored a brace and Villarreal notched an assist and earned a penalty kick to help Galaxy II earn the draw against Wilmington.
Galaxy II return to action Wednesday when they face Real Salt Lake Reserves Wednesday at 4 p.m. PT at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium.

USL PRO is the strongest U.S. men’s professional soccer league on and off the field below and in support of Major League Soccer (MLS).
