LA Galaxy II Postgame Quote Sheet: LA Galaxy II 1, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 2 | June 10, 2017

On the way the team finished the match:

“I’m disappointed because I thought we came out in the second half second-best. You could see the opposition building the momentum. We were lucky now to concede earlier. We made some naïve mistakes on the first goal. Our line should have gone out so they should have been offside. I’m happy with the response, I’m happy with the reaction. We didn’t put our head down, we kept going. But to close out the game in the dying minutes, you have to make better decisions. We have to clear our lines, we have to make sure that the opposition doesn’t have second chances and once again we got scored on on a cross. So I’m extremely disappointed tonight.”

On the team’s youth playing a factor in the early season results:

“Our guys have to understand that to compete at this level every single day and every single match is hard work. It’s hard work and it’s for 90 minutes. Right now we’re playing 88, 89 minutes and guess what, at this level that’s not good enough. So the faster our younger guys can figure this out the better.”

On the mentality of his team:

“You learn from failure. You learn from mistakes. But you have to make sure it doesn’t happen anymore. Right now, it’s still happening. We’ll go back this week…obviously another tough game against Rio Grande away so I’m really curious to see how my team reacts this week.”
