Los Dos will then travel to Sandy, UT. to face off against Western Conference leaders Real Monarchs SLC (16-6-2, 50 points) at 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Earlier this season, Los Dos found a result against RGVFC with a 1-1 draw at H-E-B Park. In that match, Frank Lopez scored a late equalizing goal, which was his first of the 2018 season for LA Galaxy II. RGVFC are one of three teams in the Western Conference still searching for their first away win this year.
LA Galaxy II dropped both games against Real Monarchs last year, most recent was a 2-1 loss at Rio Tinto Stadium. Saturday’s contest will be the sides’ first match up in 2018.
Over the weekend, Galaxy II picked up their second consecutive win, crushing Sacramento Republic FC (12-7-7, 43 points) with a 4-1 victory on the road. Ethan Zubak recorded his 10th goal of the season, and Frank Lopez scored in his fifth consecutive match. Jean Engola and Miguel Aguilar also contributed to the score line for Los Dos.
