LA Galaxy II vs. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
Mike Muñoz returns for his third season as LA Galaxy II Head Coach, with a bolstered roster that includes new signings Abraham Romero, Ernesto Walker, Jose Hernandez and Michael Gallagher. Coach Muñoz will look to continue improving Galaxy II's results, as they finished the 2018 season with a 10-17-7 record compared to 8-19-5 in 2017. Their opening weekend opponent, Colorado Springs Switchback, finished three spots above Los Dos in the Western Conference standings with a record of 11-17-6.
The two split results last year, with each team taking all three points at their respective home venue. In their final meeting of the 2018 season, LA Galaxy II earned a 3-1 win at home on Sept. 1, 2018. Tomas Hilliard-Arce scored the opening goal for Los Dos in that match. The two other goals were scored by former LA Galaxy forward, Ariel Lassiter.
Over the weekend, Los Dos secured a 1-0 victory over Real Monarchs SLC in their final closed-door preseason match of 2019. Don Tchilao, LA Galaxy's 36th pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, scored the Galaxy's lone goal.
