LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, April 7, 2021) – LA Galaxy II announced today that the club has signed midfielder Daniel Aguirre. Aguirre, 21, most recently played for UC Riverside in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
“Daniel is a talented midfielder who has a promising future within our club,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “We are excited for the immediate impact he will have with LA Galaxy II and look forward to seeing his personal and professional growth within our organization.”
The Redwood City, Calif., native spent three years at UC Riverside, where he accumulated 40 starts, 47 appearances, eight goals and seven assists. In 2019, he was named to the All-Far West Region team, one of 13 Big West Conference student-athletes to earn the honor.
In his sophomore season, he helped lead his team to the Big West Conference Tournament Championship, tallying six goals and two assists in 17 games.
LA Galaxy II will host their home opener for the 2021 USL Championship season against Sacramento Republic FC on Friday, April 30 at Dignity Health Sports Park. The 2021 season will mark the eighth year in LA Galaxy history.
