TAMPA, Fla. – The LA Galaxy II and USL Championship confirmed today that multiple covered persons within LA Galaxy II have tested positive for COVID-19.
In alignment with USL health and safety protocols, all covered persons undergo routine weekly testing, and despite all tests returning negative prior to Tuesday, July 28, results from tests administered on that date have yielded 11 positives.
In collaboration with both the club and the USLPA, the league is working to determine how and where the eleven persons came in to contact with the virus.
Proceeding with an abundance of caution, the LA Galaxy II match against San Diego Loyal SC, originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, was postponed, as was a match between LA Galaxy II’s last opponent Sacramento Republic FC and Orange Country SC, also originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 29th. Rescheduled dates for both matches will be announced in the coming days and more information will be made public as soon as it is available.
