LA Galaxy looking for road success to continue in San Jose | Weekly Schedule

The LA Galaxy take a two-game road winning streak to San Jose for the first California Clàsico of the season this weekend. The rivals square off at 7:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, May 27 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose (Univision, Univision Deportes Facebook Live).

After turning in two impressive road performances, the LA Galaxy take MLS’ best road record to San Jose Earthquakes and Avaya Stadium. The Galaxy are 29-20-14 all-time against the NorCal side, going 10-15-8 in away matches. The Galaxy went unbeaten in three contests with the Earthquakes in 2016, most recently a 1-1 draw at Stanford Stadium in the Galaxy’s only away match against San Jose last year.

It will be the LA’s second-ever match at Avaya Stadium, a venue SJ is unbeaten at in 2017. The Galaxy’s first contest there came on Aug. 28, 2015, when the Galaxy fell 1-0. The Earthquakes enter the match after turning in one of their best results of the season: a 1-0 road win over FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium.

They’ll attempt to defend the home turf against a piping-hot duo in Giovani dos Santos and Romain Alessandrini. Dos Santos has scored in three consecutive matches for the Galaxy, while Alessandrini has scored or assisted in each of the team’s last three matches. The two have combined for a goal in all three games.
