LA Galaxy's Gabriel Pec Named to MLS Team of the Matchday 34

LA Galaxy Midfiedler/Forward Gabriel Pec has been named to Major League Soccer's Team of the Matchday for Matchday 34 after his one goal and two assists in the Galaxy's 4-2 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on September 21.

Pec's goal and assists bring him to 13 goals and 12 assists on the season, his first with the Galaxy and first in MLS. After opening the scoring in the 32nd minute, Pec provided the assist on Joseph Paintsil's 10th goal of the season inthe 69th minute before assisting Riqui Puig's goal in second-half stoppage time of the win over Vancouver. The win maintains the Galaxy's unbeaten record this season at Dignity Health Sports Park. Including the game at the Rose Bowl on July 4, Pec has totaled 20 goal contributions in Galaxy home games with 10 goals and 10 assists.

The Galaxy are the first team in MLS history with four players to have scored 10 or more goals in the same season (Dejan Joveljić: 14 goals, 5 assists; Joseph Paintsil: 10 goals, 10 assists; Gabriel Pec: 13 goals, 12 assists; Riqui Puig: 11 goals, 14 assists).

Midfielder Riqui Puig earned a spot on the Team of the Matchday 34 bench after scoring a seocnd-half stoppage-time goal and recording the secondary assist on Paintsil's goal in the Galaxy's win.
