LA Galaxy Midfiedler Riqui Puig has been named to Major League Soccer's Team of the Matchday for Matchday 37 following his two-assist performance in the Galaxy's 2-1 win vs. Austin FC.
Puig's two assists bring him up to 15 on the year in the MLS Regular Season, accompanying his 13 goals in league play. It was also Puig's sixth mluti-assist game of the season.
Riqui Puig’s assist on the opening goal by Gabriel Pec in the 31st minute and assist on Forward Dejan Joveljić’s goal in the 76th minute makes Puig the seventh all-time assists leader for the LA Galaxy in MLS Regular Season play with 28 assists, passing Sebastian Lletget.
Puig made the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 36 after a two-goal performance in a 3-1 win at the Colorado Rapids. Prior to that, Puig earned a spot on the Team of the Matchday 32 squad with Joveljić and Vanney as the Team of the Matchday coach.
