LA Galaxy return to the training field to prepare for double-game week | Weekly Schedule

LOS ANGELES (Monday, July 23, 2018) – The LA Galaxy (9-7-4, 31 points) return to Los Angeles for a two-game week, first taking on LAFC (10-4-5, 35 points) at 7:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, July 26 at Banc of California Stadium (ESPN). On Sunday, the Galaxy are back at StubHub Center after a three-game road swing to host Orlando City SC (7-12-1, 22 points) at 6:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, July 29 (FS1). Thursday’s contest against LAFC will mark the second meeting in history between the two teams and the first at Banc of California Stadium. In the first contest, the LA Galaxy defeated LAFC in a 4-3 comeback win at StubHub Center on March 31. Zlatan Ibrahimović made his LA Galaxy debut in the match, scoring two goals including the game-winner to give the Galaxy the win. Sebastian Lletget and Chris Pontius also scored in the contest.

On Sunday, the Galaxy return to StubHub Center to face Orlando City SC for the first time this season. The Galaxy are 1-2-0 all-time against Orlando, winning the only contest held at StubHub Center. In that match in 2016, Giovani dos Santos tallied two goals and an assist while Landon Donovan officially came out of retirement as a late substitution. Last season, the Galaxy fell 2-1 to OCSC in their first match at Orlando City Stadium, with Romain Alessandrini scoring the only goal for the Galaxy.
