On April 19th, LA Galaxy Southern California Special Olympics (SOSC) Unified Team played their home opener against Houston Dynamo’s Special Olympics Team. The LA Galaxy SOSC Unified Team earned a 2-1 victory in their match against the Houston Dynamo.
Jose Conde Jr. scored the opening goal to put the LA Galaxy on the board during the first half. David Huerta secured the lead over Houston in the second half with his incredible goal.
Leading up to home opener, LA Galaxy SOSC Team and Houston Dynamo Special Olympics Team bonded at Manhattan Beach Pier with beach activities, dinner, and dessert. Dinner was generously donated by The Strand House to feed all these athletes for the evening.
As the season continues, LA Galaxy SOSC Unified Team will travel for their next first away match in New York. LA Galaxy SOSC Unified Team will play against the New York Read Bulls Unified Team on Saturday, May 4th after the LA Galaxy vs. New York Red Bulls match.
