CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Aug. 15, 2016) – The LA Galaxy (9-3-11, 38 points) will travel this weekend for a match against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium this Saturday, Aug. 20 at 12:30 p.m. PT live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. LA Galaxy II return to Southern California to take on Orange County Blues FC on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Anteater Stadium in Irvine, Calif.
The Galaxy are 1-0-0 against NYCFC all time, earning a 5-1 victory in their first-ever matchup last year at StubHub Center. On Saturday, the Galaxy will play in Yankee Stadium against NYCFC for the first time in club history. It will mark the only contest between the two sides this year.
The LA Galaxy earned a 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids Saturday night at StubHub Center behind a goal from forward Giovani dos Santos. With the result, the Galaxy are in third-place in the MLS Western Conference standings. LA currently boast a +15 goal differential, the best in Major League Soccer, and have conceding the second fewest goals (23). The Galaxy are unbeaten in their last nine MLS matches (6-0-3).
