CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Oct. 26, 2015) – The LA Galaxy will travel to Seattle for a match Wednesday, Oct. 28 against Seattle Sounders FC in the Knockout Round of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs (7 p.m. PT, UniMas). The Galaxy finished in fifth place in the MLS Western Conference with 51 points and a 14-11-9 record during the MLS Regular Season.
The Galaxy are 8-4-6 against Sounders FC all time, scoring 26 goals in 18 matches played head to head. In matches at CenturyLink Field, the Galaxy have gone 3-3-3 in nine matches, scoring 11 goals. The Galaxy have faced Seattle three times this season, going 2-0-1 in all matches, including two wins at StubHub Center and a draw at CenturyLink Field. In their most recent playoff match at CenturyLink Field – played last year in the 2014 MLS Western Conference Finals – the Galaxy advanced to the 2014 MLS Cup final.
Should the Galaxy defeat Seattle, they would advance to the Western Conference Semifinals, where they would host either FC Dallas or Vancouver Whitecaps FC at StubHub Center on Sunday, Nov. 1 in the first leg of the series. The Galaxy would then travel for the second leg of the series on Sunday, November 8.
The Galaxy fell to Sporting Kansas City, 2-1 on the road at Sporting Park Sunday night. Forward Robbie Keane scored the Galaxy’s lone goal, setting a new career record with 20 goals scored during a single season with LA.
