LOS ANGELES – LA Galaxy fans will be able to support AFJA on Sept. 15 when the LA Galaxy host Sporting Kansas City.
AFJA (Academia de Futbol Juvenil Amatence), the first U.S. based nonprofit soccer academy for the children of Central America, will be partnering with Angel City Brigade, LA Riot Squad, Galaxians, and the Galaxy Outlawz to host Central American Appreciation Night.
As part of Central American Appreciation Night, AFJA will host a tailgate donation drive starting at 2 pm on Sept. 15 at Dignity Health Sports Park’s Lot 13 (Northside Tailgate Area) between LA Riot Squad and Angel City Brigade. All donations of new and used youth soccer equipment will benefit AFJA, which serves children throughout Central America.
As part of the celebration of Central American heritage, the organization will host live music including the L.A. Latin Band, Marimba Orquesta Braisas Chapina, Belizean Cultural Band, and the Ballet Nacional Folkorico Garifuna de Honduras. Local food will be offered from LA Pupusa Urban Eatery, What's That Your Cookin' and Wan Lei’ Kitchen while a complimentary Michelada Bar courtesy of I Love Micheladas will also be on site.
Attendees will also be able to play futpool courtesy of Futpool America and commemorate the evening with a photo from the Vdub photo bus which will be on site. The first 300 tickets sold through LAGalaxy.com/AFJA will receive a commemorative t-shirt courtesy of Niky’s Sports.
A portion of every ticket purchased through LAGalaxy.com/AFJA will benefit the organization.
