LA Galaxy II (2-5-2, 8 points) return to StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium after two weeks on the road, this time for a return match against Phoenix Rising FC (3-4-0, 9 points). The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, May 27 and will be streamed live for free on

LA Galaxy II carry confidence into Saturday’s match after snapping a six-game winless streak with two impressive road results. They turned in a 2-1 comeback win against New York Red Bulls II at Red Bull Arena on May 14, as well as a 1-1 draw against Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at H-E-B Park in Edinburg, Texas on May 20.
Resilience has been the team’s most identifiable characteristic across the two matches, as both were comeback results. Each were led by Justin Dhillon, a Cal Poly and Galaxy Academy graduate nabbed by Galaxy II this offseason, who scored in the 72
nd
minute of each game.
The team’s most lethal weapon remains Ethan Zubak, who with two goals and two assists, has scored or assisted in half of the games he started this season. But he’s been without his front partner, Adonis Amaya, who’s struggled with injuries in the early goings of the season.
Amaya scored the opening goal in LA’s last bout with Phoenix Rising FC, a 2-1 loss for
Los Dos
at Phoenix Rising FC Soccer Complex on April 8. It was Amaya’s first goal of the season, but Phoenix’s Luke Rooney responded with two goals in the final third of the game.
Phoenix Rising FC, rebranded from Arizona United SC this offseason, lost each of its three contests against
Los Dos
in 2016. Two of those meetings were a StubHub Center. First, a 2-0 win in
Los Dos’
2016 season opener on March 26 behind a brace from Ariel Lassiter. Next came a 4-1 LA win on May 28, with braces from Ryo Fujii and Jack McBean. One of the best games in Fujii’s short professional career, he’ll be looking for a repeat experience on Saturday night.
