LA Galaxy II (10-15-6, 36 points) hit the road to face off against Seattle Sounders FC 2 (5-20-5, 20 points) at 7 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Cheney Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
LA Galaxy II will look to carry momentum from a big result at home against Real Monarchs SLC (17-12-3, 54 points). Los Dos controlled possession for the full 90 minutes, which was reflected in the 6-1 scoreline. Los Dos went into halftime two goals up, courtesy of Ethan Zubak and Adrian Vera. In the second half, Efrain Alvarez continued the scoring fest by recording his second professional hat trick. Frank Lopez also contributed a goal to the team’s total.
The Galaxy will hope to continue the final stretch of the 2018 season with more solid performances like this. After Wednesday, LA Galaxy II will return home to host Sacramento Republic FC (16-7-8, 56 points) for their final home game in the 2018 season. Los Dos will then travel to Kansas City, Mo., to face Swope Park Rangers for their final game of the year.
Los Dos face a Seattle side that sit bottom of the table in the USL Western Conference. Seattle Sounders FC 2 haven’t seen a result since early September when they faced Tulsa Roughnecks FC at home. Most recently, Seattle are coming off of a tough stint on the road with their last match resulting in a 3-1 loss to San Antonio FC.
Earlier this season, LA Galaxy II hosted Seattle Sounders FC 2 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. In that match, Los Dos put on another high-scoring performance that led to a 5-3 victory. Geoffrey Acheampong opened the scoring with his first goal for LA Galaxy II. Frank Lopez and LA Galaxy Academy player Alex Mendez also found the back of the net. Efrain Alvarez rattled off two goals during the second half of the contest to help his side secure all three points.
