This year, Los Dos are 4-8-4 with 16 points, with 24 goals scored and 29 conceded for a -5 goal differential. In their most recent match, Los Dos fell 2-0 at home to San Diego Loyal SC at Dignity Health Sports Park on Aug. 1. Galaxy II rank tied for sixth in the league in goals scored (24) and hold a 2-4-0 record on the road during the 2021 campaign.
This year, Preston Judd has seven goals in the USL Championship, the most of any Galaxy II player and tied for eighth in the USL Championship. Additionally, Jorge Hernández ranks second on LA with six goals scored, including leading the club and ranking tied for second in the league with 37 chances created. Goalkeeper Justin vom Steeg leads the team with three shutouts and 26 saves in 10 appearances in 2021.
Saturday’s contest marks the fourth meeting between the two sides in 2021, with Galaxy II leading the season series 2-0-1, with Los Dos tallying eight goals and conceding five goals. LA and Orange County play once more this season on Oct. 30 at Dignity Health Sports Park.
In 2020, Los Dos finished the regular season 8-6-2 with 26 points (4-3-1 at home and 4-3-1 on the road), earning them second place in Group B standings and clinching a berth in the USL Championship Playoffs for the second-straight season.
Head Coach Junior Gonzalez holds a 18-18-9 record throughout his head coaching tenure with LA Galaxy II and has led the team to two-consecutive playoff appearances. In the seven years of USL Championship competition, Los Dos have qualified for playoffs five times, in addition to a USL Western Conference Championship in 2015.
LA Galaxy II compete in the USL Championship Western Conference Pacific Division for the 2021 campaign alongside the following clubs: Las Vegas Lights FC, Oakland Roots SC, Orange County SC, Phoenix Rising FC, Sacramento Republic FC, San Diego Loyal SC and Tacoma Defiance.
