LOS ANGELES (Thursday, March 3, 2022) – Following a 1-0 win over New York City FC in their 2022 MLS regular season home opener at Dignity Health Sports Park on Feb. 27, the LA Galaxy (1-0-0, 3 points) travel to face expansion side Charlotte FC (0-1-0, 0 points) in front of an expected crowd of 75,000 fans at Bank of America Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT; FOX, FOX Deportes) on Saturday, March 5.
Saturday’s match marks the first-ever meeting between LA and Charlotte. In the home-opening shutout win over NYCFC, forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernández tallied the game-winning goal, while defender Raheem Edwards notched the game-winning assist in his debut for the Galaxy. Notably, Edwards was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 1 following the victory against New York City.
