LOS ANGELES (Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021) – In Week 27 of the 2021 USL Championship campaign, LA Galaxy II fell 3-2 to the Tacoma Defiance in their final road match of the season at Cheney Stadium on Sunday night. Preston Judd registered a brace, bringing his season goal tally to 17, while Taylor Davila and Marcus Ferkranus each notched assists in the loss to Tacoma.
LA Galaxy II Playoff Push
With one game remaining in their 2021 USL Championship regular-season campaign, LA Galaxy II (11-14-6, 39 points) remain in fourth place in the Pacific Division, one point ahead of both fifth-place Oakland Roots SC (10-13-8, 38 points) and the sixth-place Tacoma Defiance (10-13-8, 38 points). The top four teams from each division in the regular season will advance into a regionalized single-elimination bracket for the playoffs.

TAC – Ray Serrano (Marlon Vargas), 10th minute: Marlon Vargas latched onto a pass and flicked the ball into the path of Ray Serrano as he arrived in the right side of the penalty area for a low shot to the left corner.
TAC – Samuel Adeniran (Marlon Vargas), 54th minute: Marlon Vargas picked up his second assist as he flicked a pass centrally to Samuel Adeniran, who struck a low shot to the left corner of the goal.
LA – Preston Judd (Taylor Davila), 63rd minute: Taylor Davila’s long pass from midfield was latched onto by Judd, who avoided the onrushing Tacoma goalkeeper and curled his shot from the left edge of the box into the far corner of the net.
TAC – Samuel Adeniran (Marlon Vargas), 70th minute: A goal kick upfield was flicked on by Marlon Vargas inside the Galaxy II half, allowing Adeniran to stride forward and collect possession before lifting his finish from the left side of the penalty area into the right side of the net.
LA – Preston Judd (Marcus Ferkranus), 73rd minute: Marcus Ferkranus delivered a precise over the top of the Tacoma defense to Judd, who took a touch inside the penalty, curling his right-footed shot just inside the far post.
