LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021) – In Week 27 of the 2021 USL Championship campaign, LA Galaxy II fell 3-1 on the road to the Charleston Battery at Patriot Point Complex on Wednesday night.
LA Galaxy II Playoff Push
With two games remaining in their 2021 USL Championship regular-season campaign, LA Galaxy II (11-13-6, 39 points) remain in fourth place in the Pacific Division, four points behind third-place Orange County SC (12-10-7, 43 points) and five points ahead of fifth-place Oakland Roots SC (9-13-7, 34 points). The top four teams from each division in the regular season will advance into a regionalized single-elimination bracket for the playoffs. Notably, the loss to the Battery snapped Los Dos’ four-game unbeaten run on the road dating back to Sept. 18.

CHS – Geobel Perez (Stavros Zarokostas), 2nd minute: Stavros Zarokostas retained a pass up the right flank as he navigated past a defender and then delivered a precise ball through the six-yard area for Geobel Perez to finish at the back post
LA – Daniel Aguirre (Preston Judd), 71st minute: Josh Drack’s low cross was controlled in the penalty area by Preston Judd. Faced by two players, the forward slipped a pass to his left as Daniel Aguirre arrived in the penalty area to shoot just past the Charleston keeper into the right side of the net.
CHS – Romario Piggott (Temi Adesodun), 72nd minute: The Battery regained the lead a minute later when Robbie Crawford played Temi Adesodun on an overlap on the left side where the winger delivered a first-time cross that picked out Romario Piggott in the center for a header to the right side of the net.
CHS – Zeiko Lewis (Joel Buntin), 89th minute: Zeiko Lewis’s shot from the right side of the box found the back of the net.
